Design Considerations

There are a number of things that must considered when designing a website:

 

Purpose

What is the purpose of the site is, are you selling something?

Goals

What do you want to accomplish, to advertise?

Target Audience

Who do you want your audience to be? Keep this in mind when designing your site

Content

What kind of information will the audience be looking for on your site? Are they looking for certain information?

When we develop the site we need to keep the four principles of design in mind:

Contrast

Elements should stand out from each other         using things like shapes, colors, and tone.

​

Repetition 

Establishing a design pattern/style and use in other areas

​

Alignment

Visually connecting elements so that nothing feels out of place

​

Proximity

Creates unity so if two things are related they are kept close together
